Elizabeth Chu Richter
“Architecture is how we relate to each other within the architecture.”
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Elizabeth Chu Richter is a Chinese-born American architect. Instead of entering into the field after graduation, she stayed at home and nurtured her kids until the youngest started first grade. She returned to the profession and earned her architecture license in her 40s. She thinks all these experiences including raising kids and managing a family add to her skills in the design field. Chu Richter is the CEO of the firm Richter Architects, one of whose famous projects is the National Museum of the Pacific War. She is the 91st President of the American Institute of Architects in 2015.
