Candy Chang

“ Our public spaces can divide us or they can connect us; they can minimize us or they can enlarge us. The places we share can play a profound role in helping us make sense of the beauty and tragedy of life with the people around us. ”

Chang creates participatory artwork. Among her best know work is the "Before I Die" walls. Now found in 78 countries and 35 languages the walls asks individuals and communities to reflect on what they want to acomplish, morality, and share aspirations in pubic space. Chang created the first wall on an abandoned New Orleans house after the death of a loved one.
