A senior colleague who I met at a conference asked if I was related to ‘the Osayimwese who went to Zaria.’ It took me some time to figure out what he was talking about. ‘There was an Osayimwese who went to Zaria?’ I replied. ‘She was short, fair, hmmmm, rather substantial in stature.’ I grinned at this typical Nigerian turn of phrase.
