Zhang Jingqiu 张锦秋

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Zhang Jinqiu is a professor-level senior architect and one of the Chinese Academy of Engineering’s first academics. Zhang Jinqiu studied at Tsinghua University from 1954 to 1960 and, as a graduate student from 1961 to 1966, studied the history and theory of architecture. Since 1966, she has been involved with Northwest Design and Research Institute of China Architecture, and has been the chief architect since 1987. Zhang Jinqiu's architectural designs combine architectural tradition and modernity. Her design works have distinctive regional characteristics and focus on integrating planning, architecture, and gardening.
